World TV start broadcasting the first free-to-air Chinese TV channel (CTV8) in 2008. When NZ government shut down the analog TV converted to HD-FreeView platform, CTV8 was moved to Ch#28 on HD-FreeView and renamed as FreeView28 channel. Unlike some channels on FreeView covering only Auckland, FreeVIew28 covers nationwide.
This is a landmark in the global television industry. Freeview 28 is capable of bi-lingual broadcast-ing, with simulcast Mandarin and Cantonese audio feeds to satisfy the demands of a huge and diverse Chinese population. In addition to Freeview 28, WTV launched another Freeview channel (Freeview 29) with real time direct feed from China Central TV International Service (CCTV4). New Zealanders can now watch this renowned TV service here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide Chinese subtitle advertisements for our advertisers in this popular channel.
