New Business Investor Visa announced

The Government has announced a new Business Investor Visa, which provides a pathway to residence for migrants who are ready to invest in, operate and grow established businesses in New Zealand.

The Business Investor Visa opens for applications in November 2025.

The new investment visa offers two options:

• a $1 million or more investment in an existing business with a 3-year work-to-residence pathway
• a $2 million or more investment in an existing business with a 12-month fast-track to residence pathway.

Entrepreneur Work Visa now closed

The Entrepreneur Work Visa is now closed to new applications.

Current Entrepreneur Work Visa holders can apply for a further visa if they need more time to meet the requirements for an Entrepreneur Resident Visa, which will remain open for applications.
